Weston Eidson created Silver Ghost Cabernet Sauvignon in homage to his great-grandfather, John Montagu, an early player in the British auto industry. John's friendships with Charles Rolls and Henry Royce lead to his favourite car being the 1909 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost. A blend of Cabernet Franc (95%), Merlot (3%) and Petit Verdot (the rest) from Oakville and Yountville (50-50), the Franc ages in 50% new French oak. It is full-bodied, expressive and rich. The nose shows notes of spring flowers, kirsch and spice while the palate is a mélange of blue and black fruits, blackberry compote and dark chocolate with a background of fine tannins. The layered textures of fruit persist during the lengthy finish.
