This liqueur traces back to 19th-century Lombardy, where Bernardino Branca created fernet as a medicinal remedy for cholera and malaria. Our version keeps some original herbs and adds others found through tasting and experimentation. Uniquely among Maxico Mistico liqueurs, extraction happens in water rather than alcohol, producing different aromas and flavors, before the alcohol base is added and the mix rests to stabilize. This Mexican fernet is perfect on the rocks or with cola.
