A complex, age-worthy white from Portugal's Douro Valley, sourced exclusively from Quinta do Estremadouro — an estate vineyard in Penajóia grown on granite and shale soils and harvested entirely by hand. Aneto's flagship white, it combines two indigenous varieties renowned for their aromatic precision and capacity for ageing: Encruzado for texture and spice, Alvarinho for freshness and aromatic lift. Unlike the region's traditionally fuller-bodied white blends, this wine is defined by elegance and mineral tension rather than weight alone. Bright straw yellow with golden highlights in the glass. Aromatically layered, with lemon zest, citrus blossom, white peach, candied ginger and ripe stone fruit complemented by white flowers, restrained oak and pronounced mineral notes. Fermented in French oak with extended lees ageing and one year in a mix of aged barrels, the palate is broad and textured, showing excellent integration between concentrated fruit, bright acidity and measured oak influence. The lees contact contributes a creamy mid-palate weight while preserving the wine's freshness and saline character. The finish is long, structured and persistent, with citrus, ginger spice and restrained savoury notes. Bone dry at 0 g/L residual sugar. Best served at 10–12°C and suitable for further bottle development. With only 2,000 bottles produced globally, this is a genuinely limited, collector-worthy white. An excellent match for grilled or roasted fish, shellfish, poultry, creamy sauces, mushroom dishes and aged cheeses.
