El Bufón MIZANCHO is a one-of-a-kind white wine. It is a "lost" grape which is experiencing a bit of a rebirth in this region of Spain. It has a bright straw colour in the glass due to its eight months in French Oak barrels. On the nose, there is lots of ripe fruit ... citrus, apple and pear with a subtle anise/balsamic note. The first sip hits the same, and then more herbs and minerality enter the flavour foray. A touch of oak lingers and dances about which adds to this unique, liquid gem.
This wine is complex ... juicy, good acidity, full of flavour, seductive and elegant which makes one contemplate what MIZANCHO is comparable to in the wine world, and what to eat with it. Another bottle will keep the conversation going all night long.
