Anne Gros and Jean-Paul Tollot, two of Burgundy's most celebrated vignerons, recognized that special sites exist in Minervois, and they had a vision to bring out the best of those sites with Burgundian philosophy, growing and vinification. This 100% Marselan, which is a crossing of Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache, is a hardy, deeply coloured variety with tiny berries well adapted to Mediterranean climates, but it's rarely seen on its own. This is a full-throttle, intense, chewy beast of a wine. Aged 100% in oak, it shows aromas of cocoa, smoke, spices, blackcurrant, raspberry, redcurrant, blackberry, candied fruits, black olives, prune, and liquorice.
