Counted among the best alongside Dal Forno, Quiintarelli and Allegrini, Ca' la Bionda holds outstanding vineyards in the heart of the hilly Classico zone. Since 1902, the Castellani''s have continually improved their 29 organic hectares of east-facing, sloping vineyards to get the best of the morning sun. The single-vineyard Ravazzol comes from 50- to 70-year-old vines at 200 to 300 metres above sea level. It has a higher rock content and is at the top part of the slope where it gets the earliest sun and warmth. The wine is treated the same as the Amarone Classico, with careful selection of grapes, drying from October to February and controlled fermentation before aging in large oak and bottle.
